PBA: RoS coach Guiao fined P20K for actions towards SMB’s Ross

Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao was slapped with a P20,000 fine after getting into a scuffle with San Miguel Beer guard Chris Ross in Game 1 of the semifinals series between the Elasto Painters and the Beermen on Tuesday night.

Guiao gave Ross a nudge as the two met along the sidelines near the Rain or Shine bench before slapping the guard’s hand away early in the third quarter.

Painters big man Beau Belga also got himself involved in the altercation after coming to the defense of his coach.

Belga, who left the bench during the incident, was also given a P20,000 fine.

Guiao escaped ejection as he only picked up a technical foul as a result.

The Beermen won, 109-105, after coming back from 20 points down in the fourth quarter behind June Mar Fajardo’s 36 points, 18 rebounds and five blocks.

The best-of-seven duel resumes on Thursday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
