Philippine Futsal League semis all set
MANILA, Philippines – There were no surprises as all No. 1 seeds made it through the final four of the 3rd Philippine Futsal League (PFL) Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Manhur FC, Don Bosco United FC, Pasargad and Pars FC completed the semifinals cast by beating respective foes.
Fleet-footed Anthony Emperado dazzled with a hat-trick including a last minute goal to lift Manhur FC over The Gentlemen’s Club, 7-6, in the curtain raiser.
Article continues after this advertisementEmperado struck his first two goals early, with the first on the fourth minute and the second on the seventh.
Pasargad shattered an early tie as it ran roughshod over an overmatched Manila FC, 21-5.
The match was tied at 5-5 at the end of the first half before Pasargad regained its lethal form to nail 16 straight goals and totally shutout Manila in the final half.
Article continues after this advertisementAgainst the odds, Pars FC bucked a handful of yellow cards and two expulsions to edge PWU-Men’s, 9-7, in the last quarterfinals match.
Meanwhile, Don Bosco United FC booked a spot in the semis at the expense of Eagles United,10-7.
The final four starts this Sunday with Pasargad FC facing Don Bosco United in the main game at 6:30 p.m while Manhur FC tangles with Pars FC in the first semifinals match pegged at 5 p.m.
In the women’s semifinals, Rizal Technological University collides with the Malditas at 3:30 p.m. even as Philippine Women’s University and Pasargad meets after the men’s main offering.
The women’s plate finals between Team Pura and Los Borrachos is at 2 p.m. in the same venue, free entrance.
