It looks like June Mar Fajardo’s injury is not that serious.

Fajardo’s ACL and PCL on his left knee are intact based on the initial findings, according to San Miguel team manager Gee Abanilla.

“We are confident that he will be ok for the series,” Abanilla also said in the statement.

Beermen head coach Leo Austria likewise disproved a report that Fajardo has suffered an ACL tear after falling awkwardly on his left knee following a rebound play.

But Fajardo, though, will likely miss the opener of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals rematch against Alaska on Sunday.

“That’s not true! Most likely he can’t play tomorrow and we don’t know until when,” Austria said in a text message to Inquirer when asked about Fajardo’s condition.

Austria added Fajardo’s injury is “nothing serious.”

Results of the MRI on his knee will be released Monday.

Fajardo was wheeled off from the Araneta floor in a stretcher and was rushed to St. Luke’s Medical City in Bonifacio Global City. San Miguel won over Rain or Shine, 90-82, to advance to the finals.
