TNT import suspended 1-game for punching Elite players in tuneup

Ivan Johnson is back but he immediately got himself into trouble a week before the 2016 Commissioner’s Cup tips off.

Johnson, the ill-tempered TNT import, was slapped with a one-game suspension after reportedly punching Blackwater big men JP Erram and Frank Golla in a tuneup game recently.

The former Atlanta Hawk will miss the Tropang Texters’ conference opener, coincidentally, against the Elite on Wednesday.

The bull-strong Johnson, who led TNT to a championship in the same conference last season, was also meted with a P50,000 fine for the punching incident.

Last year, Johnson was fined P150,000 for bumping Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao in the Finals.
