Filipino Antonio Lascuña picked up six shots in his opening five holes on the way to an eight-under 64 Thursday to lead the Leopalace21 Myanmar Open by a shot over Malaysia’s Danny Chia at Royal Mingalardon Club in Rangoon.
The 44-year-old opened with four straight birdies and then signed for an eagle 3 on the fifth before gunning down two more birdies in the back nine for a flawless 30-34 card.
Miguel Tabuena, the reigning Philippine Open champion and fourth placer in the Singapore Open last week, fired a 67 to be just three shots behind with Angelo Que shooting a 68 as the three top Filipinos bunched themselves in the top 15.
