Alaska teammates Cyrus Baguio and Dondon Hontiveros has won every possible title in the PBA.

There are six titles between the two wingmen–two Commissioner’s Cups and four Fiesta Cups—but in the near three decades combined they have been in the PBA–16 and 13 years for Hontiveros and Baguio, respectively– neither have won the coveted Philippine Cup.

Baguio and Hontiveros had a chance to finally get the All Filipino title against San Miguel but the Beermen dusted themselves off after a 0-3 start and aced the next four games for the so-called “Beeracle,”

Hontiveros, who was a former member of San Miguel, has nothing to do but wait for his chance for another title shot but the thought of retirement might prevent him from getting his first Philippine Cup.

“I will have to wait, very disappointing, pero yung mga kaibigan ko naman nanalo sa kabila,” Hontiveros said. “Masaya ako para sa kanila, pero for yourself, who knows.”

Baguio, meanwhile, even joked about his apparent bad luck in the Philippine Cup but he hopes he could get his first before he calls it a career.

“Parang di ko alam kung may balat ako sa puwet sa All Filipino na yan pero ito na siguro pinaka memorable na experience ko nung 3-0 na alam mong isa na lang,” Baguio said who won his last title, the 2013 Commissioner’s Cup, at the expense of San Miguel and Hontiveros. “Parang alam mo yung natuwa ka na 3-0 hanggang ngayon di ako makapaniwala eh.”

“Hoping pa rin naman ako na after kong matapos sa PBA sana maka isa pa ako, makakuha ako ng All Filipino yun talaga dasal ko, makakuha ako kahit isa lang.”
