PBA D-League: BDO-NU drubs AMA for 1st win
BDO-National University finally got that elusive first win in the 2016 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup, downing AMA University, 93-87, Tuesday at San Juan Arena.
J-Jay Alejandro and Mohammad Salim took charge for the Bulldogs late in the game, fending off a pesky Titans squad as they turned a slim 84-82 edge with 2:12 to play to a 92-84 lead in the final minute.
Article continues after this advertisementMatt Salem led BDO-NU with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Alejandro scored five of the last six points for the Bulldogs to finish with 14 markers.
Alfred Aroga also added a double-double of 14 points and 12 boards as his squad improved to 1-2.
“I think for one, kumpleto kami this time,” said coach Eric Altamirano, as he got the Cameroonian big man back in his fort. “Also, I think we’re getting used to that D-League-type of game. Karamihan kasi ng players namin, bago so slowly, nakaka-adjust na rin sila.”

Rashawn McCarthy wound up with 21 points and 10 rebounds for AMA, which remained at the cellar with a 0-3 slate.
