Global-Loyola tiff caps explosive UFL sked Saturday

CERES-LA SALLE and Kaya return to UFL Cup action today when they take on separate rivals while Global and Loyola Meralco collide in a battle of powerhouse sides at Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Coming off a 2-2 draw with Selangor of Malaysia in its AFC Cup debut last Tuesday, Ceres seeks a fourth straight win against Green Archers United in Group B in the 4 p.m. kickoff.

Kaya, which made a good account of itself in a 0-1 AFC Cup away defeat to Kitchee of Hong Kong, battles JP Voltes in the lone Group A game.

Capping the explosive triple header is the Loyola-Global clash at 8:30 p.m.

With nine points from its first three matches, Ceres is already assured of a place in the knockout phase, but another win will push coach Ali Go’s wards closer to the top seeding in the quarterfinals.

The Bacolod side is in superb form, scoring 24 goals in the last two games, including a 15-0 drubbing of Nomads two weeks ago.
