Ateneo won’t be lulled into complacency despite seizing a twice-to-beat advantage with still two games left before the Final Four.

After disposing of the Adamson Lady Falcons in three sets for their 10th win, the Lady Eagles will round out their elimination round campaign against winless University of the East and arch rival De La Salle.

And for team captain Alyssa Valdez, those two games are as crucial as their previous ones.

“It’s getting more interesting and exciting even if we only have two games left because every game is important,” Valdez said Saturday. “Whichever team it may be, we need to give our 100 percent and we’re also going to learn every game.”

Both La Salle and Ateneo have 10-2 records, with the Lady Spikers taking the first match between the two teams in the first round.

Valdez didn’t want to single out any game. She knows every game will bring out the best of every team especially in the Final Four.

“The Final Four we come. But the competition is always present even before we make it to the Final Four,” Valdez said. “This is season is different.”
