Cyd Demecillo returned to her old playing position on Sunday against Ateneo after a knee injury forced her to play a couple of games as libero.

Demecillo was back as an outside hitter but she hasn’t found her game yet.

The graduating Demecillo said her timing is still off due to his injury, but she knows it’s not an excuse to not perform to the optimum level.

“Since galing akong injury, first-time attacker, nag-a-adjust pa rin ako pero hindi excuse yun para sa akin (I’m coming off an injury and it’s my first game back as attacker so I’m still adjusting, but it’s not an excuse),” Demecillo said Sunday after La Salle dropped a five-setter to Ateneo.

Demecillo finished with 12 points but errors continuously plagued her.

She added it wasn’t just the miscues that kept bugging her, but also the pain of her injury.

“Of course yes,” Demecillo smiled. “Part of the game naman (It’s part of the game) but it’s just all in the mind.

“Mind over matter. I just tell myself, ‘I can do it, I can fight it off no matter what happens.'”
