Unbeaten Mighty whips Supremo, posts 7th victory

UNLEASHING its might in the final period, Mighty Sports extended its unbeaten start to seven games with a 75-62 dumping of Supremo Lex in the PCBL Chairman’s Cup at Malolos Sports and Convention Center over the weekend.

Kiefer Ravena and Bright Akhuetie scattered 18 points apiece for Mighty, which also got 11 points from newcomer and former University of Santo Tomas standout Kevin Ferrer.

The victory tightened Mighty’s hold of top spot while the Builders remained in the cellar at 1-6.

Euro-Med also stretched its winning streak to three games after walloping Sta. Lucia, 83-75.

Ex-pro Jopher Custodio pumped in 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Eric Salamat fired 14 points and dished out seven assists for Euro-Med, which improved to 3-4 for a tie of fourth spot with Jumbo Plastic and Foton.

The Realtors mounted a late rally anchored by JR Cawaling and Jam Jamito, but Euro Med responded with clutch triples from Custodio.

Despite the loss, the Realtors remained in second place with a 4-3 record.

Euro-Med also drew solid games from Ola Adeogun, Alex Almario and Gwynne Capacio, who combined for 32 points.
