Mac Belo and Ed Daquioag may have been on opposite sides in their collegiate careers but in the semi-pro league, the two have become brothers-in-arms.
UAAP rivals became the best of teammates as the two joined forces for Phoenix-FEU Accelerators and Belo is one amazing teammate for Daquioag.
Belo led the Accelerators to its first PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup title and the victory was even sweeter when he shared it to his former opponent.
“Masaya kami kasi semi-pro na to at nabigyan na namin ng championship si Ed,” Belo said Thursday.
Belo won his only UAAP title in 2015 with Far Eastern University at the expense of University of Santo Tomas and Daquioag.
Mike Tolomia, Belo’s Tamaraw teammate, was also jubilant for the graduating Growling Tiger.
“Dedicated kasi itong championship na ito kay Ed,” Tolomia said. TVJ
