Reyes moves on to KO game after painful loss to FEU

Mika Reyes has been the embodiment of the La Sallian swag which has been passed down to her from the likes of Michele Gumabao and Aby Maraño.

On Sunday, however, Reyes had tears in her eyes after De La Salle University lost to Far Eastern University in five sets Sunday at Mall of Asia Arena.

Reyes could not help but be emotional in defeat especially after her Lady Spikers dismantled the Lady Tamaraws in the first two sets before giving up the last three that mattered most.

Still there’s another game to play and Reyes vows to be better the next time around.

“Wala yun, nabigla lang, carried away,” Reyes said. “Of course kailangan mabawi talaga.”

“Siyempre part ng paglalaro yan, part ng life.”

La Salle had a twice-to-beat advantage in the semifinals, but the two teams will be on a level playing field on Wednesday.

“Siguro part na rin [of the game], hindi ko rin ma-question eh di mas lalo ko lang dinown ang sarilo ko so move on move on.”
