Andy Jao named commissioner for NCAA Season 92

Andy Jao will serve as the commissioner of the NCAA Season 92 men’s basketball tournament opening on June 25.

Jao was appointed by host San Beda to succeed Bai Cristobal, who served for two terms.

NCAA Management Committee chair Jose Mari Lacson and San Beda rector Fr. Aloysius Maranan, OSB, confirmed Jao’s appointment on Wednesday.

It will be Jao’s first stint as commissioner in the NCAA and third overall after he served as one in the UAAP in 2011 and 2014.

Jao also served as a commissioner of the defunct Philippine Basketball League.

“We have confidence in him (Jao) and we know he’ll be fair to everyone,” said Lacson.
