Mayweather offers McGregor $50M for New Year’s eve fight—report

It seems like Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s camp is slowly making moves to make the dream match between the retired boxer and UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor happen.

According to TMZ Sports, Mayweather has reportedly offered the Irishman $50 million to battle him in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve.

But the same report also said that Mayweather has yet to bring the proposal to UFC president Dana White, who has the right to approve any fight involving any fighter affiliated with UFC.

White has already called the megafight “impossible,” saying they are too many complications to deal with including the issue of which sport’s rules are going to be followed and the pay split.

“Let me put it to you this way. Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather are in the same sport. It took how long for those two to fight? Now imagine how hard it would be to get (Mayweather and McGregor) to fight. They’re not in the same sport.”

However, White has opened his phone lines to Mayweather.

Mayweather, who retired with 49 wins to his belt, has already announced that the only fight that could make him come out of retirement would be against McGregor.

Though both fighters, known for their brash nature, are seemingly keen in making the fight happen as seen in their teasers on social media, striking an actual deal is another thing.
