F2 Logistics blurs Cignal HD in PSL opening

F2 Logistics brought out the jammers and disrupted Cignal, 25-12, 23-25, 25-20, 25-11, to open its campaign in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference on a high note Saturday at San Juan Arena.
Substitute Christine Soyud only played in the fourth set but was vital in capturing the win for the Cargo movers scoring on a magnificent middle hit that went through two HD Spikers.
“Medyo nung first set maayos performance, nung second set nagka overconfidence, nagkaron ng miscommunication sa court and nung nagka kumpyansa Cignal ayun medyo lumayo,” said Cargo Movers head coach Ramil De Jesus.
F2 Logistics pretty much owned the match but let the HD Spikers take an early 17-9 lead, in the second set. Though the Cargo Movers managed to inch closer, 21-20, but the momentum had already moved to Cignal.
De Jesus’ bench, though, took over in the fourth with Mary Joy Baron and Soyud playing closers for F2 Logistics.
“Hindi lahat ng starters maganda performance, may mga off, ngayon maganda na nag deliver mga galing sa bench,” said De Jesus.
Aby Maraño led F2 Logistics with 17 points while substitute Stephanie Mercado and Ara Galang had 11 points apiece.
Mika Reyes and versatile setter Kim Fajardo added nine points each to the Cargo Movers’ total.
Cherry Vivas was the lone bright spot for Cignal with 13 points.
