Roel Valdez, the father of the phenomenal Alyssa Valdez, is used to celebrating Father’s Day with a simple get together with his family talking, eating, and just having fun.
But on Sunday, Roel was in the biggest Father’s Day of his life.
Not only did he celebrate the special date with his children Alyssa and Nico, Roel had more than a thousand people joining him.
“Oo naman, ito na pinakamalaking Fathers’ Day ko,” said Roel during daughter’s Grand Fans Day at Pasig Sports Complex.
“Dati kasi yung Fathers’ Day simpleng kain lang and sama sama kaming pamilya, ngayon ko lang parang hindi ko alam kung ano nararamdaman ko. Sobrang tuwa.”
What was supposed to be Alyssa’s day also became Roel’s celebration and for the first time, Alyssa’s loyal fans got to know the man who raised one of the greatest volleyball players the Philippines ever saw.
Roel is grateful for the people who have supported his daughter from the beginning especially for the fans who continue to rally behind the two-time UAAP MVP and whom he considers as his own kin
“Talagang pamilya, naging pamilya na silang mga fans, tulad niyo na ring media ang babait niyo sa amin,” said Roel, who also acknowledged Alyssa’s accomplishment to their family.
“Dahil sa kanya nagka ganito kami, naging kasama na rin kami sa tagumpay niya na maging volleyball player, buong pamilya naiangat niya.”
