Gilas Pilipinas has wrapped up its training in Greece and is now heading to Turkey to continue its 18-day camp in Europe.

From the Greek town of Karpenisi, the Nationals left for Istanbul where they will play a tune-up game against the Turkish national team.

Philippine team head coach Tab Baldwin was pleased with how Gilas’ camp in Greece turned out.

“Great camp, great bunch of guys, great work ethic, trying hard to build a great team for our country. #Gilasonmymind,” Baldwin posted on his Twitter account.

“Another training camp in the books. There’s always a special sense of accomplishment and pride every time you go through this kind of grind for the country. Very much impressed by how the guys consistently battled and worked extremely hard in the past 9 days. Thank you Karpenisi and Montana hotel for taking good care of us. Off to Istanbul! #gilaspilipinas #parasabayan#greecetrainingcamp,” Gilas assistant coach Josh Reyes wrote on his Instagram.

Gilas will cap its European trip in Bologna, Italy where it will take part in a pocket tournament against the host nation, Canada and China.

The team, which left Manila on June 10, returns home on June 28, a week before it opens its campaign in the Fiba Olympic qualifying tournament against heavyweight France.
