IN LESS than two months, presidential nephew Bimby Aquino Yap will have a Eurasian half brother.

His father, two-time PBA Most Valuable Player James Yap, will have a brand new family, as Michael James Yap is delivered into this world by the cager’s Italian girlfriend Michela “Mic” Cazzola.

Michael James is named after both his parents.

“We will call him MJ for short,” said James, who hopes the baby takes after the talents of legendary NBA superstar Michael Jordan.

Of course, James is also hoping that MJ takes after his father’s passion for basketball, said a close friend.

He said he has been invited to the baby shower for MJ, which he thought was “for girls only.”

“With the genes of his parents, we think he will grow up to be really tall so we hope James will have a successor in the PBA,” the teammate said.

According to James’ friend, Bimby is into soccer.

“I’m not sure if that’s Bimby’s preference but his mother Kris has been encouraging him to take up the sport, not basketball,” the friend said. “So James will have a son who’s into football and another who will hopefully be into basketball.”

Now that James is about to have a second son, perhaps he will no longer be as frustrated as he used to be for not being allowed to have even partial custody of Bimby.

Once when he was interviewed, James didn’t even know if Kris and Bimby were in the country.

Kris’ popular morning show “Kris TV” had to be cancelled allegedly due to health reasons.

“From what I know, Kris and her sons are now in Hawaii,” James’ friend said at the time of the cager’s interview.

“Andito ba? (Are they here?)” James asked when a scribe inquired about his elder son’s whereabouts.

For the first time in years, San Beda College, five-time champion before Letran won the past season, is not the favorite to win the NCAA men’s basketball crown. Handled by Jamike Jarin, another NCAA coach said it’s still as formidable as ever but NCAA rooters pick Vergel Meneses’ Jose Rizal and Jerry Codiñera’s Arellano squads as the teams to beat.
