Stars of the PBA are about to rock the capital anew.
The 2016 PBA All-Star Weekend has been set for August in Manila at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
PBA and Uniprom, the events arm of the Araneta Group, forged the contract on Tuesday in a simple press conference at Novotel.
Fans will have a chance to vote for their favorite players to make up the North and South teams for the annual All-Star Game.
Voting can also be done online at PBA.ph.
Traditional events like the Rookie vs Sophomore Game, Obstacle Challenge, Three-Point Shootout, Dunk Contest, and the game between Greats and Stalwarts are set to spice up the event.
But it doesn’t stop there, as commissioner Chito Narvasa shared that the PBA is still working to give a more unique All-Star experience.
“We’re planning. Sinabihan na ako ni chairman Robert Non na kailangan under his watch, maiba naman para matandaan ng basketball fans yung event. I also urged the players to show extra effort in reaching out to the fans to give them more enjoyment,” he said.
Narvasa said he hopes to bring the PBA All-Star spectacle to a broader audience overseas next year. Dubai was considered one of the venues for this year.
“Hopefully, next year baka matuloy na natin. Maraming OFWs na magagalak kung madala natin ang All-Star doon,” he said.
