Phoenix guard Brandon Knight will be the latest NBA star visit the country as he will grace the NBA FIT Week in the Philippines starting July 19.

Knight will be joined by former Boston Celtic Dee Brown as they lead the training of elite Filipino athletes and coaches in this year’s Gatorade NBA Training Center to be held at Gatorade Hoops Center in Shaw.

“I’m looking forward to participating in NBA FIT Week and teaching talented young players in the Philippines the importance of fitness and nutrition both on and off the court,” said Knight. “Being a great
player is the product of maintaining good workout, eating and sleeping habits.”

The 6-foot-3 guard from Kentucky averaged 19.6 points, 5.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds for the Suns last season.

“I’m excited to visit the Philippines for the first time and experience the passion that Filipino fans have for basketball,” said Brown, the 1991 Slam Dunk Contest champion.

Brown, who also played for Toronto and Orlando before serving as an assistant coach for Detroit and Sacramento, shared that the visit presents a unique opportunity for them to impart the knowledge to their Filipino counterparts.

“Having had the opportunity to work in the NBA, WNBA, and NBA D-League, I look forward to sharing my coaching knowledge and providing valuable insights on fitness and conditioning to help athletes and coaches elevate their games to the next level,” he said.

This is the third consecutive year for the Gatorade NBA Training Center, where experts get the chance to share thoughts on basketball, fitness and conditioning, and nutrition to the local athletes and coaches.
