Philippine Air Force took down top seed Cignal anew, 25-19, 25-17, 28-26, to claim the Spikers’ Turf Season 2 Open Conference title with a sweep of their best-of-three Finals Wednesday at Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
National University’s Fauzi Ismail flourished in the big stage and finished with a game-high 16 points for the Airmen.
Air Force also needed just three sets to beat Cignal in Game 1 on July 4.
Howard Mojica added 12 points for Air Force.
Lorenzo Capate and Raymark Woo tried to extend the HD Spikers’ season but their efforts were still not enough. They combined 24 points, carrying much of Cignal’s offensive load.
