Castro, Lee, Pringle headline PBA All-Star reserves

Jayson Castro, Paul Lee, and Stanley Pringle fortify the North All-Stars as the complete 2016 PBA All-Star Weekend rosters were released on Thursday.

The three guards, along with Alex Cabagnot, Gabe Norwood, and the TNT duo of Ranidel de Ocampo and Troy Rosario, will all play off the bench for the squad which will be mentored by Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao.

Mark Caguioa, Terrence Romeo, Calvin Abueva, Japeth Aguilar, and Marc Pingris were earlier named as the starters for the North team.

Meanwhile, Asi Taulava was named as Greg Slaughter’s replacement for the first five of the South All-Stars. The Ginebra big man will miss the annual festivities due to an ankle injury.

Taulava joins two-time MVPs June Mar Fajardo and James Yap, Joe Devance and rookie Scottie Thompson as the starters for the South team.

Rain or Shine studs Jeff Chan, JR Quinahan, and Jericho Cruz, and guards Chris Ross, Mark Barroca, RR Garcia, and Carlo Lastimosa will back up the South All-Stars, which will be under the guidance of San Miguel coach Leo Austria.

The 2016 PBA All-Star Game will be on August 7, Sunday, at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
