GENERIKA survived a scare from Amy’s Kitchen and finished strong to score a 21-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-14, last night in the Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference women’s volleyball at Malolos Convention Center.
The Lifesavers thus gained a crack at fifth place against the winner between Cignal and Standard Insurance-Navy on Saturday.
But it wasn’t that easy for Generika.
With nothing to lose, the Amy’s Spikers poured their heart out to win the first set and even led 23-20 in the third set.
Generika, however, showed its pride and utilized its main weapons Chloe Cortez, Gen Casugod and Rubie de Leon to nail the third frame. That was all it took to break Amy’s which has not registered a win in 11 matches.
“That’s the problem with my players. We tend to throw away points through service errors,” said Generika coach Francis Vicente. “It’s a good thing we recovered in the end.”
