Ejected Guiao frustrated, confused over officiating
Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao expressed his displeasure over the officiating, specifically his confusion on the league’s interpretation of “what a foul is and what is not.”
Guiao’s frustrations reached the tipping point Saturday night after he got ejected in the third quarter of the Elasto Painters’ win over the Alaska Aces in the 2016 PBA Governors’ Cup.

It’s just the confusion of not knowing what a foul is and what not a foul is so that’s where the confusion lies,” Guiao said after Rain or Shine’s 117-114 win, its third in five outings.
“Okay lang yung may masamang tawag, alam mong masama pero ang mas mahirap, yung hindi mo alam kung masama or tama yung tawag. Yun ang mas mahirap, hindi mo alam kung ano yung tawag,” he added.
Guiao also said he’s not the only one who is having a hard time wrapping his around the perplexing calls.

Hindi lang naman ako yung nalilito, marami rin ang nalilito sa tawagan. Okay lang yung alam mong masama pero yung hindi mo alam kung mali or tama yung tawag, yun ang nakaka-frustrate.”
The outspoken mentor is also not satisfied with his team’s win as he pointed out its lack of cohesiveness and consistency that have kept the Painters from getting off to a good start this conference.
“I think we were down by about 10 points when I was taken out of the game but we had some timely conversions. I guess we just have to look at the positive in this game and the positive is that we’re back into winning above the .500 percent winning percentage but I’m still not happy with the way we played.,” he said.
“I still feel that we don’t have the chemistry that we usually have. We’re still not consistent. We had good ball movement in the first half but it got lost in the second half.”/rga
