Junior Blazers seal 3rd spot
College of St. Benilde-La Salle Greenhills reasserted its mastery over Arellano, 79-76, in a playoff for the No. 3 spot in the NCAA Season 92 juniors basketball tournament Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Unique Naboa had an all-around effort, collecting 21 points, six rebounds, eight assists and three steals for the Junior Blazers, who improved to 3-0 against the Braves.
With the win, the Junior Blazers arranged a Final Four duel with No. 2 Malayan High School of Science
Meanwhile, the Braves will take on top seed San Beda in the other semifinals matchup. The Red Cubs’ only loss came at the hands of the Braves. They went 17-1 in the elimination round.
The Final Four begins Friday morning at Mall of Asia Arena before the seniors take the stage.
Troy Mallillin added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds for CSB-LSGH.
Guilmer dela Torre had 20 points on 5-of-18 shooting from the field to lead the Braves, who have now lost five straight after going undefeated in their first 13 games.
