Laoag eyes No. 2
UNDERRATED Team Laoag aspires for a share of second place when it squares off with lowly University of the Philippines in the Shakey’s
V-League Reinforced Conference today at Philsports Arena.
Showing a lot of spunk despite not having an import, the Power Smashers are entering the 6 p.m. game as favorites against the Lady Maroons.
Philippine Air Force tackles import-powered BaliPure in the 4 p.m. match.
With veteran mentor Nes Pamilar at the helm, the Power Smashers are at 2-1, losing only to Bureau of Customs when they failed to stop Alyssa Valdez from scoring a league-high 39 points.
But this time, Pamilar said they are beginning to develop camaraderie among new players Grethcel Soltones, Jorelle Singh, Aiko Urdas and Alyssa Eroa.
At 1-2, UP is hoping to breathe life into its campaign and hopes to bounce back from its 25-20, 25-17, 25-23 defeat at the hands of Pocari Sweat Saturday night.
The Lady Warriors were bolstered then by foreign players Breanna Mackie and Andrea Kacsits.
