FIVB: Rexona-Sesc ‘could’ve done more’ in loss to Eczcibasi

Rexona-Sesc head coach Bernardo Rezende thought his team could’ve put in more effort against defending champions Eczcibasi Vitra Istanbul.

Rezende’s team, the defending champions of South America, fell to Eczacibasi in five sets despite a 2-1 set lead in their group stage match in the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship Thursday at Mall of Asia Arena.

“We are kind of trying to find out the best system, and we’re just frustrated because we could’ve done something more, a little bit more,” said Rezende after the 25-27, 25-19, 22-25, 25-18, 15-11 loss.

Rexona-Sesc, who team slipped to 1-2 in Pool A, enjoyed 33 free points courtesy of Eczacibasi’s errors but the Turkish club answered them defensively to the tune of 22 scoring blocks.

“We had some wrong choices, you never lose when you learn something, so we hope we can learn from this and be better.”
