Pocari Sweat attempts to book a semifinal seat even as three other teams scramble to avoid elimination Monday in the  Shakey’s V-League Reinforced Conference at Philsports Arena.

The Lady Warriors are on a three-game winning run, capped by a straight-sets win over Bureau of Customs, 25-22, 25-22, 25-14, over the weekend.

Another win would automatically qualify it to the next round with early semifinalist University of Santo Tomas.

But Laoag will be standing in the way of Pocari Sweat at

4 p.m. with the Power Smashers hoping to get out of a two-game losing skid.

University of the Philippines and Air Force engage in the battle for survival in the other match at 6 p.m.

Pocari has seen big improvements in teamwork. Imports Breanna Mackie and Kay Kacsits are getting the hang of playing with locals led by Myla Pablo and Michele Gumabao.

Laoag hopes to draw strength from power-hitting Grethcel Soltones, veteran Jorelle Singh, Aiko Urdas and ace setter Relea Saet.

Meanwhile, Cignal takes on Army in the Spikers’ Turf Season 2 match at 12:30 p.m.
