Ed Daquioag is fine being picked with any team this 2016 PBA Rookie Draft, but if he has a choice, he only has two teams in mind.

“Kung ako ang papipiliin, gusto ko sana TNT or NLEX,” Daquioag said Friday during the 2016 Slam Draft Suite.

The former UST standout shared he prefers to play for either TNT or NLEX because of their coaches.

Daquioag said his familiarity with coach Nash Racela makes it ideal for him to suit up for the KaTropa.

He and Racela shared numerous battles in the UAAP including a thrilling finals duel where the Growling Tigers lost to the Tamaraws in three games. The two also teamed up as part of Phoenix in the PBA D-League.

Daquioag, meanwhile, thinks he could be a good fit for the Road Warriors, who are now under head coach Yeng Guiao.

“Yeng Guiao yun eh,” he said. “Nagtanong na ako sa coaches ko and sabi nila, pwede ako sa NLEX. Bagay ako and I can fit there.”

Daquioag, though, isn’t discounting the other teams that might consider drafting him.

“Ok naman ako maglaro kahit saan,” he said.

Daquioag believes his experience playing against veteran cagers in the PBA D-League, where he carved a reputation as a reliable scorer and defender will help him adjust in the PBA.

“Tingin ko naman, nasanay na din ako kasi sa D-League, more experienced ang kalaban. Yung experience of the game sa PBA, adapted sya doon kaya siguro kaya ko na rin lumaro,” he said.
