LAS VEGAS–Manny Pacquiao’s bunches of punches maybe becoming scarce, but they are finding their mark more often.
This was evident with the way Pacquiao dominated Jessie Vargas Saturday night.
Though he’s no longer as busy as he used to, sometimes throwing over a thousand punches just like what he did in toppling Antonio Margarito six years ago, Pacquiao remains a punching machine.
A more advance model of the prototype that had the same speed, but is less accurate.
From 2007 to 2009, when Pacquiao was terrorizing the opposition in whatever division he hops on (135 pounds, 140, 147, 154), Pacquiao was relentlessly unloading punches, making up for the misses through the sheer number of his punches.
Against Vargas, Pacquiao was even outgunned, 409-562, in punches thrown.
Pacquiao, however, hit his target more often, 147-104, to compensate.
In addition, Pacquiao unleashed more power punches, 101-70, than Vargas.
