V-League, Spikers’ Turf All-Star Games set

The best of the best troop to Philsports Arena in Pasig as Sports Vision holds its first ever Shakey’s V-League and Spikers’ Turf All-Star Games on November 20.

Tony Boy Liao, the leagues’ tournament director, and Ramon Martelino, general manager of Sports Vision, announced the development on Thursday.

Coaches were already handpicked to lead the teams which will participate in the showcase.

Rhovyl Verayo (Air Force), Dante Alinsunurin (NU), and Norman Miguel (Champion Supra) will lead one team in the Spikers’ Turf game, as they take on the squad mentored by Macky Cariño (Cignal), Oliver Almadro (Ateneo), and Ernesto Balubar (IEM).

On the women’s side, Jasper Jimenez (Air Force), Nes Pamillar (Laoag), and Sherwin Meneses (Customs) will coach one crew in the Shakey’s V-League All-Stars, versus the team headed by Rommel Abella (Pocari), Jerry Yee (UP), and Kungfu Reyes (UST).

The coaches have already selected their team from a pool comprised of the best performers in all three conferences, as they eye to complete their 12-man rosters, to be announced on Wednesday.

Proceeds from the charity game will be for the benefit of Typhoon Lawin victims through ABS-CBN Foundation.

Organizers also shared that there will be a two-hour meet-and-greet session to start at 1 p.m., where all ringside and courtside ticket holders will have a chance to have autographs and photo opportunity with their volleyball idols.

The Spikers’ Turf All-Star Game starts at 3:30 p.m., followed by the Shakey’s V-League All-Star Game at 5:30 p.m.
