Valdez goes for tough last mile

They’ve come a long way. Now, they’re almost there.
Bureau of Customs star Alyssa Valdez feel they’re very close to the championship but admitted that the last mile to the title will be arduous.
“Of course, it’s been a super long road we’ve been through and now it’s close, just a short walk, or just a short run, or a sprint and we’ll be there in the end,” said Valdez.
Customs takes on heavy favorite Pocari Sweat in the Shakey’s V-League Reinforced Conference best-of-three championship series, which fires off tomorrow at Philsports Arena.
“[Pocari Sweat is] really strong,” said Valdez. “They’re veterans, they’re a well experienced team, they work as a team, so it’s really a hard challenge for us to play against them.”
Another heated series is in the offing when BaliPure and University of Santo Tomas dispute third place.
