After four years, Yousef Taha is bidding his professional career goodbye.

The GlobalPort big man announced his decision through a lengthy statement posted on his Twitter account @YousefTaha04 on Friday, citing personal and religious reasons to cut his Philippine basketball career

“I need to be back home with my family. There are moments in life where things doesn’t make sense, but in the future they will,” the Fil-Palestinian center wrote.

Though refusing to expound on the matters, Taha said he “exhausted every possible idea I could think of – that’s when I fully turned to my religion.”

“With that being said and where I am at in life, it hurts me to say I feel but its best not to continue my PBA career,” said the 28-year-old.

Taha, 28, was drafted 12th in the 2012 PBA Rookie Draft and has bounced around the league playing for five teams before ending his career with the Batang Pier.

“Hopeful naman tayo na makabalik sya. Alam natin may personal problem sya pero supportive naman tayo sa kanya,” said GlobalPort team manager Bonnie Tan.
