Mark Wahlberg open to give McGregor a stake in UFC

Conor McGregor is going to be out for a while to take care of his pregnant wife, and he wants a share of UFC equity upon his return.

Turns out, the multi-division champion might just get his wish, as Hollywood actor and new company investor Mark Wahlberg said he was willing to give McGregor a piece of his share.
“Absolutely,” Wahlberg was quoted as saying, when asked by TMZ Sports if the Irish sensation deserved ownership. “As a matter of fact, I’ll give him a piece of mine because he is the face of the UFC right now. He deserves that, but also in business you’ve got to cut the check.”
The premier mixed martial arts organization, however, has yet to release word if it would allow McGregor to participate in the corporate side of things, but Wahlberg believes he will soon cross paths with the enigmatic champion.
“He’s a hustler like me so there’s probably a lot of other opportunities for us to go out there and make money and work together,” Wahlberg said.
Aside from purchasing a share of the fastest-growing global sports brand in September, the 45-year-old film and entertainment mogul is also known for producing films featuring notable sports figures—including UFC superstar Ronda Rousey’s starring role in the film “Entourage.”
Since McGregor is already quite the character outside the octagon, Wahlberg also believes it’s inevitable that he’ll have his hand at acting as well.
