Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Jr. will remain Philippine Olympic Committee leader over the next four years.

The 82-year-old Cojuangco will run unopposed after the Pasig Regional Trial Court denied yesterday the issuance of a temporary restraining order to prevent today’s POC polls at  Wack Wack Golf and Country Club in Mandaluyong.

The camp of Ricky Vargas sought a court injunction after the boxing chief was disqualified from challenging Cojuangco due to his failure to attend the required number of POC general assembly meetings.

Cojuangco will only need a simple majority count from 44 possible votes.

“I seek the full support of all national sports associations for our other candidates to provide checks and balances in the POC,” appealed Vargas.
