Bong Sison fired a five-over-par 66 worth 31 points yesterday to help San Miguel-Northern Cement nip a hard-finishing Megafiber by a point and retain the centerpiece Fil Championship division title in Senior Fil-Am Invitational play in Baguio.

Sison held the fort for San Miguel-Northern with his best performance of the week that came at the demanding Country Club layout as the star-studded squad closed out with a 114 for 487

Megafiber, the 2013 champion, started the day 10 points behind but got a huge boost from eagle-spiked rounds of Rene Unson and Mari Hechanova, tallying a fourth round 123 that almost turned things around.

Former pro Eddie Bagtas and Benjie Sumulong chipped in with 28 points apiece with Chito Laureta’s 27 counting as the last San Miguel score.

Unson matched par for 36 points, and Hechanova had 34 highlighted by an ace on the ninth. Megafiber got 28 points from Rolly Viray and 25 from Ben Jacinto. Manila Southwoods returned 104 points for 472 and third spot.
