PBA alarmed of poor Mahindra performance
The Office of the PBA Commissioner has called the attention of Mahindra management regarding the team’s very poor performance in the Floodbusters’ first two games in the Philippine Cup eliminations.
After dropping their first two outings by an average of 22 points and trailing Rain or Shine by a humiliating 49 in the fourth quarter on Wednesday night, a league source told the Inquirer that commissioner Chito Narvasa will be looking into the matter already.
Narvasa, according to the source, asked Mahindra representatives to submit the team payroll for the season to find out if team management is complying with the league’s minimum salary cap.
A separate resource person said that the minimum cap is around P24 million a year.
