Kevin Ferrer had a field day when Ginebra head coach Tim Cone gave him and the other youngsters the chance to play closer for the Gin Kings in their game against Mahindra Friday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Ferrer had his best offensive night in a Ginebra uniform putting up 12 points, all coming from distance, to go along three rebounds.
The rookie, however, is not satisfied with what he did in their 89-70 win.
“This is just little of what I can do, I still have to earn Coach’s trust and I’m not stopping,” said Ferrer in Filipino. “Whatever trust coach Tim has in me, I’ll give him more reasons why he should trust me more.”
Cone joined Scottie Thomspon, Paolo Taha, and other rookies Jericho De Guzman and Jammer Jamito on the floor in the final minutes the game.
“I’m happy because coach Tim gave us the opportunity so us rookies grabbed it,” said Ferrer.
“I also thank my teammates since they’re always pushing me to shoot and they give the confidence I need.”
