Fil-Am LPGA campaigner favored in PH Ladies Masters

Demi Runas, a Fil-American who went 6-for-12 in cuts in this season’s LPGA in the United States, will be seeing action on local soil for the first time and is installed as one of the top favorites when the $80,000 ICTSI Philippine Ladies Masters tees off at Alabang tomorrow.

The 5-foot-6 Runas, a 24-year-old whose Filipino lineage is traced in La Union and Cavite, will be gunning for a strong showing here just to be able to give her confidence a much needed shot in the arm.

Together with current Taiwan LPGA Order of Merit leader Lin Tzu-chi and local aces Princess Superal, Dottie Ardina and Cyna Rodriguez, Runas, because of her experience playing at the highest level, is tipped as one of the players to beat in the 54-hole championship.
