Sampson Carter announced his arrival in style and led Alab Pilipinas to an 86-77 win over Kaohsiung Truth in the Asean Basketball League Sunday at Kaohsiung Arena in Taiwan.
The 6-foot-8 Carter, along with the 6-foot-11 James Hughes made triumphant debuts as replacement imports for the Philippine side.
Carter showcased his all-around game with 23 points, six rebounds and six assists with two steals and a block to boot.
Bobby Ray Parks Jr. shone anew with a team-high 28 points that went with six assists for Alab Pilipinas, who hiked their record to 3-2.
Alab bounced back from a 71-68 loss to the league-leading Singapore Slingers. The team is now 3-0 against Kaohsiung.
The Truth failed to follow up their breakthrough victory over the Saigon Heat as they dropped to 1-5.
