Gymnastics Association of the Philippines Cynthia Carrion was named top delegate for Team Philippines in the August Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia.

The Philippine Olympic Committee executive board yesterday chose Carrion as chief of mission, while appointing squash chief Robert Bachmann as her deputy.

The POC also named canoe/kayak boss Jonne Go as chief of mission for the Youth Olympic Games in Argentina, and taekwondo’s Monsour del Rosario as chief of mission for Asian Indoor Games in Turkmenistan.

Both YOG and AIG will be held this year.

Meanwhile, athletics chief Philip Ella Juico, who is also vice president of the Asian Athletics Association, led the AAA in the first-ever review of its Continental Athletics Strategic Plan (CASP) 2013-2017 in Dubai’s The Meydan hotel in Race Course, the world famous race track.

The review is in line with the objective of AAA president Dahlan Al Hamad of Qatar to make athletics the competitive and recreation sport of choice in the Asian Continent and the AAA as the most professionally run and effective area association in the world.
