Cignal cruises to 4th straight win, routs Blustar
Cignal-San Beda shrugged off its poor start and manhandled Blustar Detergent, 109-79, for its fourth straight win in the 2017 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Robert Bolick poured all of his 15 points in the second and third periods, while also adding four rebounds and three assists to help the Hawkeyes move to joint second place with Cafe France at 4-1.

“We tried to give everybody a chance to start. We played well in the first quarter, but the problem was we’re not making our shots,” said Cignal coach Boyet Fernandez. “Credit to the boys who played in the end of the second quarter and really played defense. They really wanted to play and that’s where the lead extended to 14.”
The Hawkeyes tore the Dragons into shreds in the middle quarters, first unloading for 28 points in the second frame to take a 47-33 halftime lead before firing a 30-point explosion in the third period to take a decisive 77-56 edge.
