Far Eastern University took its second straight win in the UAAP Season 79 women’s volleyball tournament, and what a win it was.

The Lady Tamaraws downed fellow title favorite National University, 25-20, 25-13, 22-25, 25-20, Saturday at Filoil Flying V Centre.

FEU improved to 3-2 after starting the season 1-2 and having its title worthiness questioned after being pegged as favorites by preseason reports.

The Lady Bulldogs slipped to 3-2 and it’s their turn to hear murmurs as to whether they can validate their lofty preseason ranking.

University of Santo Tomas extended Adamson University’s misery with a quick three-set sweep, 25-13, 25-12, 25-9, in the first match.

“I hope this will be start of our improvement,” said Reyes as his team stayed at the sixth spot in the eight-team ladder. “We really have to work hard for our victories because whoever works harder in this league will always be crowned as the winners.”

UST’s offensive rhythm was Adamson’s nightmare with the Golden Tigresses unleashing 31 scoring spikes, seven kill blocks, and an impressive 14 service aces.
