Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao is set to face British bomber Amir Khan on April 23 after the two fighters confirmed the news on their respective social media accounts.
“Negotiations between Team Pacquiao and Team Khan have come to terms for the April 23 bout as this was what the fans wanted #PacquiaoKhan,” Pacquiao posted on his Twitter account Sunday.
Pacquiao, who had a brief seven-month retirement, posted an online poll on his Twitter page on who he should fight next despite having reports that he was set to face Australian Jeff Horn.
Khan was the top vote getter.
“My team and I have agreed to terms with Manny Pacquiao and his team for a super fight #pacquiaokhan #April23rd,” Khan posted.
Khan and Pacquiao go way back with the Briton being the Filipino’s sparring partner during his early days as a welterweight. CBB/rga
