Alab Pilipinas is getting a huge boost late in the ASEAN Basketball League season with the addition of amateur star Kiefer Ravena.
Head coach Mac Cuan welcomed Ravena’s acquisition especially amid Alab Pilipinas’ two-game losing skid.
With Ravena’s addition, Alab gets another potent offensive option in the backcourt aside from Ray Parks.
“It is big for the team because we have another play maker,” Cuan told INQUIRER.net in a text message. “It will help Ray Parks, because now the defense can’t just focus on him and it will free him up on the offense.”
“Plus, he’s is a proven winner.”
But Alab Pilipinas will have to wait a few weeks before they could utilize the former UAAP MVP with Ravena still recovering from a hand injury he suffered in Mighty Sports’ stint in Dubai.
Before the Dubai tournament, Parks suited up for the Texas Legends in the NBA Developmental League.
After losing in their first two meetings, Alab Pilipinas tries to snap out of its slump against the Saigon Heat on Sunday at CIS Arena in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
