Ginebra rookie Kevin Ferrer would rather focus on his role rather than dwell on his brush with San Miguel forward Arwind Santos in Game 4 of the 2017 PBA Philippine Cup Finals on Friday.

Santos threw the ball at Ferrer’s head as he tried to save the ball out of bounds and later blocked the Santo Tomas forward after he recovered the ball midway in the fourth quarter.

“I don’t know about him, but I know it’s just part of the game,” said Ferrer in Filipino.

Things have been heated between Ferrer and Santos after the two traded barbs during and after Game 3.

But save for that isolated incident in the payoff period, it was a fairly uneventful faceoff with San Miguel establishing a huge lead early for a 94-85 Game 4 victory.

Ferrer heeded Tim Cone’s advice to put the issue behind him as he tried to help Ginebra equalize the series.

“I focused on my game and didn’t mind those issues. Coach Tim said that Game 3 is already over so we had to prepare for this,” he said.

Unfortunately, Ferrer could only drill a pair of treys as he finished with just six points and three rebounds in his 28 minutes on the floor.

Despite a 1-3 deficit in this series, the lanky forward said that Ginebra won’t go down that easily.

“We’ll move on from this game. Whoever really wants this game and is fully committed game-to-game will win. We don’t want to lose just like this,” said Ferrer.

Game 5 is on Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
