First win ‘confidence builder’ for Mahindra, White
After three tries, Mahindra finally scored a breakthrough it was badly looking for, turning back NLEX, 89-81, on Friday to chalk one in the win column in the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
And import James White, who willed the Floodbuster through his 30 points and 23 rebounds, is just relieved to finally taste a victory.
Article continues after this advertisement“Every game that we play, I want that win. But it’s always good to get that first one of the season. We know the confidence of winning so it’s always good to get that win under your belt,” he said.

And the 23-year-old reinforcement had every reason to feel so, as he snapped a personal seven-game losing streak dating back to last season’s Governors’ Cup.
Article continues after this advertisementWhite, though, is no longer concerned about the past as he would rather focus on improve his craft to help his team.
“It feels great, it’s a blessing. It’s a confidence builder and we’re ready to go on to our next opponent and just have fun again. We just have to go to practice day-by-day. We’re not going to look towards the future, we’re going to work about right now,” he said.
Mahindra returns to action next Wednesday against Alaska.
