PBA legend Samboy Lim has returned home and reunited with his family for his 55th birthday.
A photo of Lim with his ex-wife Darlene Berberabe and daughter Jamie in their Blue Ridge home in Quezon City was posted on Facebook last Sunday by Dani Wicklund, a niece of the former San Miguel superstar.
“A lot of planning, preparation and logistics (special wheelchair, etc.) were needed to pull off his first stroll outside of the hospital and his condo. Aunt Lelen made sure an ambulance was on standby, while Ate Jamie lovingly watched over her dad with so much love and concern,” Wicklund wrote in the caption.
“All went well when they took him to their home in Blue Ridge. Even Ate Jamie’s dog, Kitty, was all over Uncle Samboy in excitement. Everyone had tears of joy while they sang happy birthday to the Skywalker. Later that day, Fr. Gigi Yabut offered Holy Mass for the special intention of continued healing,” she added.
Lim collpased while stretching during an exhibition game of PBA Legends at the Ynares Center in Pasig on the night of November 28, 2014. He fell unconscious before reaching the hospital and eventually slipped into a comatose.
A law on basic life support training in schools has been named in his honor. YG/IDL
