For three straight years, Far Eastern University has reached the Final Four of the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament, but all of those ended in early exits.

Their latest exile from the semifinals was on Sunday when Ateneo handed the Lady Tamaraws a four-set beating, 25-22, 25-10, 16-25, 26-24, Sunday at Mall of Asia Arena.

Despite the Final Four heartbreak, head coach Shaq Delos Santos said the loss would serve as challenge for them to do better in the future seasons.

“This is a challenge for us, so that in future seasons our team will have improved from this,” said Delos Santos. “So, I’m hopeful that we can prepare for future seasons better.”

FEU finished with the league’s fourth-best record with an 8-6 slate but that has been a similar fate for the Lady Tamaraws for three straight years.

FEU has not won the big prize in almost 10 years. Still, Delos Santos is proud of what they’ve accomplished in Season 79.

“I’m proud of what the team has done because whatever happened to our team this season, they haven’t stopped trying to reach our goal, the dedication’s still there,” said Delos Santos.
